Corrie Ten Boom is a perfect example of what it means to be set apart for God. In the beginning of her life, nothing pointed to an extraordinary future and it would be many years and many tears before she and the world would truly know what God had set her apart for. Born in Haarlem, Holland, Corrie Ten Boom spent her first 50 years living peacefully with her father and sister above their family watch shop. When World War II broke out this devoutly Christian family began to hide persecuted Jews from the Nazis inside their home. Eventually, their “hiding place” was discovered and they were arrested and sent to a concentration camp in Germany where Corrie’s father and sister both died. It was in the concentration camp where Corrie discovered unimaginable evil, but also the unconquerable strength and beauty of faith in God. After her release, she embarked on a journey that would take her around the world twice to more than 60 countries. She went with the sole purpose of telling the world about the reality of evil and the only thing that can conquer it – faith and hope in Jesus Christ. She traveled and spoke to millions of listeners until her death at 91. God set apart Corrie Ten Boom for something extraordinary – Himself.
Like Corrie Ten Boom, YOU have been set apart for God. First, you are set apart from the world: “For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” (1 John 2:16-17) Second, you are set apart by and for God to do something with your life that no other Christian can do – a unique and specific calling that only you can fulfill for God’s glory. How can you know what you’re specifically set apart to do for God? There’s only one way to find out: walk with Him TODAY – trust Him TODAY – obey Him TODAY and He’ll lead you to your extraordinary tomorrow!

I AM YOURS, LORD. I BELONG TO YOU. YOU MADE ME AND YOU HAVE SET ME APART FOR YOURSELF. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS, BUT I KNOW YOU HOLD TOMORROW IN YOUR HANDS! I WILL LIVE FOR YOU TODAY SO THAT YOU CAN PREPARE ME FOR WHAT'S AHEAD. WHATEVER COMES, I WILL TRUST AND FOLLOW YOU. MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE IN MY LIFE!
