An Important Reminder About Love

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." (1 Cor. 13:4-8)

LOVE was not invented by mankind. True love came down to us. Each of my 3 children is very different, but they all have one thing in common: none of them have needed me to teach them how to be naughty! It comes naturally to them because they are instinctively good at thinking about themselves. They are naturally filled with self-love. Self-love is not real love. Self-love is pride in disguise. And pride is what leads to all the problems in the world: hatred, jealousy, coveting, mistrust, and on and on we could go. Aren’t these the OPPOSITE of what true love produces? My children don’t need me to teach them how to care about themselves, they need me to teach them how to care about others. How to truly love others. They have to learn this just as I am still learning this. To learn about true love, to know and share true love, we have to first know its Source…

We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. (1 John 3:16-20)

Have a blessed week knowing that God loves you!
